Who we are

Hello my darlings!

Dixie here, or as many know me, Dixie Normous. I bring over 9 years of experience as an international drag artist. I have built a fantastic reputation within the community and have been extremely fortunate to have performed at and hosted many weddings, events, and festivals across the UK and abroad.

Over the previous 9 years I have had the honour to collaborate with some incredible brands and businesses including NHS, BBC Radio, JC Decaux, Natwest to name a few.

I currently hold the reign for the Euro Drag competition as Wales/England’s Regional Winner.  Most recently, I was fortunate to be shortlisted for the 2023 National Diversity Awards as a Positive Role Model for the LGBT community.

Behind the lashes:

From a young age, I trained in Performing Arts and studied at both Sylvia Young Theatre School in workshops & at The Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA).  I took part in many professional & amateur productions.

At the age of 16, I left school and decided to train at the Bournemouth School of Hospitality & Food and was awarded a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Management. From graduating, I furthered my career within many Hotel brands working within the Wedding & Events Management team planning & hosting between 50-100 weddings a year.

I absolutely loved the opportunities and experience I gained.  I was approached by a well-known production agency and was offered a place on a Holiday Park within the Entertainment & Events team – a job I thoroughly enjoyed.

Although I absolutely loved the experience and knowledge I gained from the job, I felt there was something still missing from my life.  This is when the creative minds of both myself & T.I.A’s ‘To Drag & To Hold’– a dragulous led ceremony available to all.

The forming of To Drag & To Hold

The experience & creative minds of both myself and T.I.A realised there was a gap in the market to bring a drag led ceremony to not just same sex couples but any couple who wanted a ceremony with a difference.

From conversations we both had with many engaged couples at venues far and wide, we noticed that couples didn’t always want a traditional ceremony but wanted a ceremony personalised to them.

We wanted to create a ceremony that was inclusive and diverse and a safe space for all.

The other woman is wearing a black T-shirt with 'California West Coast' printed on it and a black cap.
